काममय एवायं पुरुष इति।
यथाकामो भवति तत्क्रतुर्भवति।
यत्क्रतुर्भवति तत्कर्म कुरुते।
यत्कर्म कुरुते तदभिसंपद्यते॥
You are what your deep, driving desire is.
As your desire is, so is your will.
As your will is, so is your deed.
As you deed is, so is your destiny.
– Brihadaranyaka Upanishad

But why do we do what we don’t want to do?

Often, our mind gets hijacked by fleeting whims, ideas and biases. Even the simple act of observing a car or smelling a tadka can trigger a train of thought. This thought is then neatly woven into a complex narrative that drives many of our actions.

What can we do about aligning our thoughts, feelings and actions to our higher purpose?

Knowing the aim of our life, our uncompromisable values and developing awareness seem to hold the key to this question.

This section will deal with my understanding of works of great gurus that contain ways to understand our true destiny and find the will to achieve it.
